Research on Meta-data Discovery
Community Grids Lab.,
Indiana University,
Bloomington, Indiana
Motivation
This research is part of ServoGrid project. SERVOGrid is a NASA project to integrate historical, measured, and calculated earthquake data (GPS, Seismicity, Faults) with simulation codes. We are developing intelligent meta-data discovery systems for the earthquake data and the simulation codes. General Earthquake Model (GEM) is a program to construct physically realistic simulations of earthquake processes. There are a number of GEM codes located on the grids. We would like to have a virtual meta-data layer for GEM Objects and have intelligent querial services for meta-data discovery. So, we are developing descriptive meta-data for GEM Objects. GEM Object could be GEM code, GEM data, GEM script or GEM document. We have also developed intelligent querial services by using Case Base Reasoning (CBR) technique. CBR is a well known artificial intelligence recommender technique. We are using Conversational CBR (a sub-technique for CBR) as a front-end for meta-data discovery.
